Chemical Waste Disposal Point

We are very lucky to live in a place that many only get to visit on holiday! Each year, local businesses benefit enormously from the booming tourist trade, as hundreds of thousands of people visit our communities. Whilst this is a major boost to the local economy, it can place a strain on local amenities.

A lack of facilities for campervan users to safely dispose of waste has sadly seen a rise in illegal dumping. Whilst this is only being done by a minority of campers, it is nonetheless extremely unpleasant, polluting the environment, and having a detrimental effect on the beautiful countryside.

The Community Company has installed a CWDP next to the car park at the top of Bunoich Brae, with direct access to the mains sewer.

There is a cost to maintaining this facility and we ask that users make a donation to help us keep it open.

Our thanks go to the Scottish Government Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund, Highland Council and Visit Scotland who have helped fund this project

What is a CWDP?

A CWDP is a chemical waste disposal point, which can be used for disposing of the contents of chemical toilets safely and securely.

The CWDP is situated at the Upper Bunoich car park, by the recycling point.
