Keeping our communities looking beautiful throughout the year…
Established in 2014, the Community Caretaking team carry out maintenance work throughout the communities to keep them looking beautiful for locals and tourists alike. If you would like to find out more about the Caretakers, meet the team here.
Following our success in securing a Highland Council Community Challenge Award (1 of only 2 communities in Scotland to do so!) the Caretaking team undertake grass cutting, litter and leaf clearance and gritting in both communities, and also care for the cemeteries in Fort Augustus, Invermoriston and Dalchreichart
Alongside these routine tasks, the team carries out projects throughout the local community, such as providing outdoor education opportunities with Kilchuimen Primary School. You can read about the Caretaker’s work with the Primary School at the Old Convent Land here.
In June 2024, Glen and the team won the “Achieving better outcomes in partnership” award by Highland Council. The award represents the fantastic work Glen and his team manage year in, year out in the community.
