Spring 2021

One thing’s for sure, the reduced hours over the winter period has certainly created a healthy backlog for my to-do list!

Despite all the uncertainties, the caretaking team are once again on the rise and a full complement should be in place by mid-May. Brushing, shovelling, blowing and scraping are on the cards for standard village maintenance, as well as the familiar grass cutting regime. The cobwebs have been brushed off the kit and we’re ready to go!

Residents and visitors alike should be enjoying a range of new outdoor furniture throughout the villages in the area. Thanks to the HIE Tourism Fund for providing funding for some excellent and much needed new seating and interpretation products to enjoy in 2021. (We just need to muster up the strength to get the items out and into position).

Out with our standard routine, some planned project work for the team over the next few months will include stone walling, bridge building, fencing, drainage, pole pruning (not dancing), woodland management, building maintenance and floral planting.

As always, should you come across any of the orange team do stop and say hello.

Thanks for reading
